NAVARO Driver App Privacy Policy

Effective date: 29 March 2026

1. Who We Are

NAVARO operates the NAVARO Driver App, used by approved transport partners and drivers to receive, manage, and complete bookings in real time.

Contact for privacy questions: support@navaro.gr and info@navaro.gr

2. Scope

This policy applies only to personal data processed through the NAVARO Driver App. It does not describe privacy practices for NAVARO public website pages used by end customers.

3. Data We Collect

Depending on your role (customer, partner, or driver), we may collect:

  • Driver identity and account data (name, login identifiers, role, company affiliation).
  • Booking and trip assignment data needed to operate rides.
  • Customer contact details needed for assigned booking communication.
  • Driver operational data (availability status, assigned rides, route progress).
  • In-app communications and support messages.
  • Device and technical data (app version, device type, diagnostics, IP/log events).
  • Location data from drivers, including background location during active driver sessions.

4. How We Use Data

  • To authenticate drivers and maintain secure access.
  • To assign, operate, and complete transport bookings in real time.
  • To support dispatch operations and route coordination.
  • To allow direct driver-customer communication for active bookings.
  • To help customers locate their assigned driver and follow live progress.
  • To provide operational support and incident handling.
  • To prevent fraud, misuse, and unauthorized access.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

5. Driver Location and Background Location

The NAVARO Driver App collects precise location while the app is in use and, where permitted, in the background during active driver sessions. This processing supports core service functionality, including:

  • Live trip tracking and dispatch operations.
  • ETA and route progress updates.
  • Helping customers identify the assigned driver pickup point.
  • Operational safety, quality control, and incident support.

While a driver is active for bookings, relevant live location status may be shared with the assigned customer and NAVARO operations to support pickup and trip execution. Drivers can stop sharing by going Offline and can manage permissions in device settings. Some service features may not work correctly without location access.

6. Legal Bases (GDPR)

We process personal data based on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract.
  • Legitimate interests (for example, service reliability and fraud prevention).
  • Legal obligations.
  • Consent, where required by law.

7. Sharing of Data

We share data only when needed for service operation, including with:

  • Assigned customers for the same booking (for example contact and live trip visibility).
  • Partner transport companies and dispatch/operations users managing assigned rides.
  • Infrastructure and software providers (for example backend, storage, notifications, analytics, support tools).
  • Authorities, when legally required.

We do not sell personal data.

8. International Transfers

Where data is processed outside your country, we apply appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law, including contractual protections where relevant.

9. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for service delivery, legal obligations, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and legitimate business operations. Retention periods vary by data category and legal requirement.

10. Security

We use technical and organizational security measures designed to protect personal data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.

11. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object, or port your data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise rights, contact: support@navaro.gr

12. Children

Our services are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children where prohibited by law.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material updates will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
